Tio Pepe’s Karinderia

(sorry for the poor quality photo it was taken at night)

Have you heard lately the talk of the town? If you haven’t heard, please bear with me. There is a newly opened store at Mandaluyong it is located within the vicinity of EDSA Central Market. Last week I managed to buy some time. At glance, it has a resemblance to typical food chain but only difference was, they offering meals that were suitable for the budget of average Filipinos. After a long enduring line, at last the waiting was over. I ordered one nilagang baka with plain rice, one fried lumpia and one glass of iced tea. Maybe you won’t believe, it cost me fifty-five pesos only. After that very tasty experience with Tio Pepe’s Karinderia, I went home with take out order in my hand of fried lumpia. So if you happen to pass by Tio Pepe’s Karinderia please give it a try, and then share your experience.

The Apple iPhone Story

Since it is my birthday today, i'll took this oppotunity to beg you gifts in cash or in kind. I'm just kidding but if you're kind enough, why not. I'll give you a hint what i want for my gift in my birthday.

The Apple iPhone Story

Apple divulged to the public the most anticipated smart gadget, the iPhone. It combines a wide screen iPod, smart cellphone, and mobile Internet device.
What makes iPhone to be the most wanted smart phone in the world today, as for now; and how it’s differed from its rival phones? To start with, iPhone don’t have QWERTY keyboard and no stylus well, basically it’s designs to work completely with your fingers. Also, it is the largest, highest-resolution screen and one of with slimmest profile available and its metallic frame and black face exude the stylish design that is close to the heart of Apple Corp. Other features include patented multi-touch technology that allows for new gesture-based control and more accurate pointing recognition; it comes in a two-mega pixel camera with photo management; as for connectivity various options through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi; with contact and calendar synchronization, Google Maps, Yahoo mail, weather widget; powered by Apple Safari browser; and it doesn’t stop their because it’s also a wide screen iPod.
But don’t be in a hurry to buy this magnificent piece of craft, for your information iPhone will be available exclusively through Apple and Cingular-owned outlets. Hence, it is unlikely to see the rapid decrease characteristic of other smart phones in the market.
Do you still want to purchase an iPhone? Hold for a moment, I forgot to tell that it have substantial disadvantage you want to consider for; it has no GPS capability; there is no high-speed data; no java-based applets and it seems that Apple Corp limits the propagation of business 2.0 (w/c emphasize client/developers collaboration, wikis, & third party support) when they publicized that all future iPhone utilities will come to Apple; the iPhone battery isn’t replaceable and its memory isn’t expandable. Furthermore, iPhone have security flaws and vulnerabilities in its system. In the contrary, Apple recently released its patches for its security flaws. How tremendous Apple is, before the security evaluator presented their findings to the public; they had released patches. Anyways, what keeps you waiting if you have the means? Purchase it but remember to make your money worth, think twice.

Now you now what i want for my birthday, be kind. (just kidding)

Reaching Millions Without Spending A Sweat

(Mutual Fund definition/advantages/ disadvantages- Part01)

People have the right to have a good life and quality living. You have a choice by giving your life the options - by providing the right principles and tools; in which if figure out and applied, it would serve as guiding tools towards quality life. These become my personal advocacy in life. I’ll provide options to those people who wanted to become financially stable.

How can I provide them good options or reach millions without spending sweat? Or is there such thing? Yup! After you’ve finished reading this article you may know the answer to the question. But for at the moment, please keep on reading.

Here are many ways to achieve the financial goal; some by establishing their own business; by investing in a real state and some owe their life a chance by playing on a lottery. In this matter, one out of ten ventured in business succeeded and as to investing on a real state, the story is the same while playing lottery-one out of one million chances to win. What I’m trying to stress out is that any investment instrument you want to get in there is always an equivalent risk to it. Every person has different tolerance to risk. The person, who can manage the risks, will control the game. One risk that you may wish to consider is by purchasing in an investment vehicle that pooled from many investor in stocks, bonds, money market instrument or other securities; or most commonly known as MUTUAL FUNDS.

Advantage of mutual funds:
1. Simple> If you have a hard-earned money and you don’t know what will you do? Instead of opening an account in a bank that earn one percent per year; try to purchase in a mutual funds that can earn you as much as fourteen percent per year (not guaranteed).
2. Diversification> As include the tagline "Don't put all your eggs in one basket." In mutual fund, money is diversified based on your chosen objective. Basically speaking, diversification is used to manage risk.
3. Professional Management> When you purchase a share in a mutual fund, you are also choosing professional money managers. These fund manager manage and monitor the performance of the securities the fund purchases.
4. Affordability> For a minimum substantial amount you can have portfolio of funds. Contrary to direct investment, investors in a mutual fund can purchase a share in smaller denominations. Some mutual funds accommodate investors who don't have a lot of money to invest by setting relatively low amounts for initial purchases, and minimum additional monthly purchases. Rather than having to wait until you have enough capital to purchase higher-cost investments, you can have in right away with mutual funds.

Here are presented some of the disadvantage of mutual funds for your consideration.
1. No Control>
Unlike in any investment vehicles, a mutual fund investors typically cannot ascertain the exact composition of a fund's portfolio at any given time, nor can directly persuade which securities the fund money manager purchases or and subscribe or the timing of those trades.

2. Without Guaranteed Returns> It doesn’t mean you purchased a share in a mutual fund you’ll gain positive returns, like any investments vehicles are without guaranteed return. There is always the possibility that the value of your mutual fund will depreciate or in worst case lose all of your investment.3. Past Results Are Not Indicative of Future Returns> Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.

That’s all for now. Please follow my next posting. I’ll be discussing ‘How Can You Earn Money From Mutual Funds’.If you like what you have read, kindly comment here.
Thanks and regards. -Deus.

Are You Awake?

An album cover of a band caught my attention. I’ve been an avid listener to this band since when I heard their self-titled album, ‘System of the Down', Without further adieu.

‘As the century nears its formidable end, our global experience of universal proportions, predicted by many greats, will arrive at our solar system, to our system of a down. Authoritarian oppression, family abuse, depression caused by conformity and economic devastation will be neutralized by technological terrorism in times of complete chaos control will never again be gained for toleration will become extinct. A husband quarreling with his wife will not think twice or regret his gun to spent bullet. Hungry children will not spare the grocer remorse in all forms will be removed from human thoughts and actions.

Freedom will only be available through revolution or death. This system of a down is unavoidable as life on this planet becomes unnecessary.

The hand has five fingers, capable and powerful, with the ability to destroy as well as create. We have the power to stop and reverse the tides of times by making our awareness of abuse known to the power of industry and their uncouth political arms only by raising this awareness and promoting personal peace within today’s self-defeatist society, can we allow the planet a chance to avoid self-destruction!

OPEN YOUR EYES, OPEN YOUR MOUTH, CLOSE YOUR HANDS AND MAKE A FIST!’

-System of a Down

Do your thing by analyzing the data provided. Are you awake now?

Dumaguete City: Foreigner's Haven

One morning of March 2007, while I'm eating in Mc Donald's Dumaguete City Negros Oriental, a question pop-up in my head. - What makes Dumaguete find it ways to the eye of appreciation of the foreign people? After days of staying in Dumaguete City, this question still lingered in my mind. So I decided to put it in words.

Let me start by giving you brief history of the city. Dumaguete is located in the province of Negros Oriental. It is the province’s capital and major seaport. The word Dumaguete came from the word “daggit” which means, “to snatch”. During the 17th century, there were frequent pirate attacks along the city’s coastal area. But when the Spaniards came they called the place “Dumaguete”.

Certainly the city of Dumaguete, has come a long way. It has now become one of the country’s premier tourist destinations, learning center of the South, and a city with a booming economy. It is truly a wondrous place to visit. Dumaguete creates a vibrant environment for both local and foreign. As it known for low crime rate and low profile locals; where else can you find boundless beauty and experienced peace of mind...only in Dumaguete City.

This is the most serious complication of the flu and is more likely to occur in the elderly and people whose immune systems have been weakened by other medical conditions.

Fact: Stomach distress is rarely a symptom of the flu. Other viruses, bacteria and food poisoning are more common causes of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

Learn About Laptop Processors

What is the best laptop in the market today? Which is the best processor in the market today? But before engaging in buying a laptop takes a look for a moment the common names and definitions of leading processor, you might be included in the persons who go confused about their labels.

Centrino: Intel’s label for it’s low-power, Wi-Fi capable chipsets. These are geared for road warriors and offer longer run-times due to their lower power requirements.

HT: Commonly known as hyper-threading, this is another Intel development that let their processors execute multiple threads or instructions at the same time. This is more efficient than non-HT processors, which have to queue up the instructions and execute them one at a time. Of course, the software has to support hyper-threading as well.

Dothan: Intel’s Pentium M line. This family uses a smaller 90nm manufacturing process, and has double the cache size, raising the clock speed. This family has a GHz range of 1.7 GHz to 2.0 GHz all running on a 400MHz FSB.

Core: Intel’s Core line. This family has five in their list. (As of for now). Processor numbers for the Intel Core brands are categorized in 4-digit numerical sequences with an alphabetical prefix. Intel processor numbers allow you to quickly differentiate among processors within a product family and make more informed decisions. (e.g. within the Intel Core 2 processor family).

Processor numbers are based on a variety of features that may include the processor's underlying architecture, cache, front side bus, clock speed, power and other Intel technologies that enhance your experience.

Guidelines from Intel

The processor number is not a measurement of performance, nor is it the only factor to consider when selecting a processor.
The digits themselves have no inherent meaning, particularly when looking across processor families. For instance, 840 is not "better" than 640 simply because 8 is greater than 6.

Furthermore, linear increments between processor numbers may not indicate linear feature advancements. For example, the differences in processor features between an Intel® Pentium® M processor 760 and an Intel® Pentium® M processor 765 will not be the same as between an Intel® Pentium® M processor 765 and an Intel® Pentium® M processor 770, even though both pairs of processors are separated by an increment of five digits. Processor numbers do not represent specific system configurations and do not replace system-level benchmarks.

10 Things to Consider When Buying a Laptop

There are no wrong purchases when it comes to technology. Laptop is no exception, but before you begin, find out if you’re purchasing what you really like. I’ve prepared list to consider when buying a laptop.

1. Processor
It is considered as the heart of central processing unit (CPU). As the name implies it is where the computing or the core actions took place. Have you experienced being confused with laptop processor? To avoid getting confused let’s clear some names and definitions. Kindly read here.

2. Consider the Dimensions and Weight
In laptop, size does matter especially when you consider yourself as ‘road warrior’. The drawback is the smaller the dimension and lesser weight; the higher the price value so would go for dimension or price?

3. Memory
I’ll define first what memory is, or commonly known as random access memory (ram). This is the instant-access memory in a computer that holds data temporarily. It’s erased when the device is turned off. Not to be confused with a hard disk, which stores data permanently.

4. Storage Capacity
Huge storage capacity is an optional thing. Common storage capacity you would find in the market today is 80 Giga. This size is enough to store all your data and multimedia files.

5. Battery Life
Another thing to consider is the battery life. If you go unplugged, it is disappointing after several minutes your device went off and there are no AC plugs to found. Look for with energy saving feature to lessen the energy consumption. If you planning to travel in battery with less life span, you better sure plugs are around.

6. Video Cards/ Graphic Cards
Video cards with good enough memory let you handle heavy multitasking. Whether you are working on your projects, and listening to your favorite music of Suite Pee of System of A Down or playing DOTA War Craft games is one of the reasons to look forward for choosing good graphic cards.

7. Look for Spill Resistant Keyboard and Shock-resistant Hard Drives
This is an optional thing to consider but it is worth looking for. Many laptop manufacturers are in the drawing board integrating these features.

8. OS Compatibility
Since, operating system is software that tells a device how to work and what to do. In order to run application program device such as laptops should have one of these. Hence, OS compatibility is very crucial.

9. Look for All-in-one Device
Choose devices that combine several capabilities. For example, look for an integrated optical drive that can view multiple formats. Also, check if it comes with all the latest wireless links such as USB and firewire to name a few.

10.
Price and Quality Wise
Don’t mind the brand; do consider your needs and your objective of purchasing the laptop. Are you a young executive; sales representative or just student please do give consider looking for a reasonable price and good quality devices all in one package. Nevertheless, the combination of nicely compact design and quality in a reasonable price means this is still a very desirable laptop.
